Hosting a catering event? Here are five ways to help you save money...

The Bar: Although it provides more options, top shelf can get expensive. If you are looking to save some money consider an open bar with only wine, beer and champagne.

Less Hors d’oeuvres: Stay within your #budget by limiting the amount of hors d’oeuvres served at your event. Remember, they still have dinner. You don’t want them to fill up on food during cocktail hour anyway.

Self-Serve Cocktail Hour: Passed hors d’oeuvres can be costly, which is why you should consider a self-serve cocktail hour. This way, you are saving money on not only preparation but serving staff as well.

Avoid Expensive Dishes: Regardless to what you serve, if you have a good caterer you should have nothing to worry about. Keep your dishes simple to keep your cost down. This will save you time, money and stress.

Glassware: Do you really need four different types of glasses – in different shapes and sizes – to serve drinks in? Avoid ordering an excess amount of glassware by choosing one style.
